Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) – East Hawaii Region seeks a Carpenter Helper to support maintenance at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. You will assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painters in a healthcare setting to keep the facility safe and functional.
Preferred candidates have a HS diploma and a carpentry apprenticeship or two years of related experience; safety awareness and teamwork are essential for this role.

Help keep Hilo Benioff Medical Center safe, functional, and well-maintained by supporting the skilled trades team responsible for hospital renovations, construction, and maintenance. As a Carpenter Helper, you will work alongside carpenters and other skilled building tradesmen to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility, helping ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

* Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
