As a Storekeeper I, you will play a key role in ensuring medical supplies and equipment are available, organized, and delivered efficiently to support quality care across our hospital. Your work directly impacts the ability of clinical teams to provide timely and effective treatment to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels at all times
  • Receive, inspect, store, and distribute incoming supplies, verifying accuracy and quality of shipments
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and lead annual physical inventory counts to ensure accountability
  • Coordinate supply requests and deliveries with hospital departments to meet operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of equipment, including warehouse tools (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)


Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify, you must meetallof the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience are credited based on a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience:
    • At least six (6) months of general clerical experience demonstrating basic arithmetic skills and the ability to follow instructions
    • One and a half (1.5) years of specialized experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or related clerical work
  • Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Substitutions Allowed:

1.Successful completion of a substantially full-time equivalent clerical curriculum of a duration of six months or more at an accredited community college, business or technical school, which included courses in (a) English and (b) mathematics or bookkeeping may be substituted for the General Experience required.

2.Education in an accredited university in a baccalaureate program with courses in (a) English and (b) mathematics or accounting may be substituted for the General Experience required on the basis of 15 semester hours for 6 months ofexperience.

For General and Specialized Experience:
1.Successful completion of a substantially full-time equivalent clerical curriculum of a duration of a year or longer, leading to a degree or diploma at an accredited community college, or at a business or technical school which included courses in (a) basic English, (b) mathematics or bookkeeping and (c) storeroom operations, supply management, or a related course, will be deemed to have met the experience requirements for the general clerical experience and six (6) months of the specialized experience.

2.Successful completion of a substantially full-time equivalent clerical curriculum leading to a degree, diploma, or a certificate of achievement at an accredited community college, business school or technical school which was for a period of less than one (1) year may be substituted for the General or Specialized Experience on a month-for-month basis provided the training included courses in (a) basic English, (b) mathematics or bookkeeping and (c) storeroom operations, supply management, or a related course.

3.Education in an accredited university in a baccalaureate program with courses in (a) English, (b) mathematics or accounting, and (c) supply management or a related course may be substituted for the General Experience and up to 6 months of the Specialized Experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for 6 months of experience.

Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.



Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
