Job summary

ARCHER WESTERN is seeking a Carpenter Helper for the GDOT SR 316 Bundle 2 project in ATHENS-CLARKE, GA. You will assist carpenters, measure and prepare layouts, and help install wooden structures on commercial and civil sites.

Expect to work with carpentry tools, follow safety policies, and support a team focused on quality and efficiency. Training and steady opportunities for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years verifiable experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines for layout prep.
• Prepares, builds and installs wooden structures per prefabricated units.
• May assist with installation of awnings or metal decking for concrete slabs.
• Uses carpenter’s belt and carpentry tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
