Job summary

ARCHER WESTERN is seeking a Carpenter Helper for the GDOT SR 316 BUNDLE 2 project in ATHENS-CLARKE, GA. The role supports carpenters by measuring, cutting, and installing wood-based structures for heavy civil projects, with opportunities to work across the U.S. in various divisions.

You will use hand and power tools, follow safety policies, and learn through hands-on training while contributing to important infrastructure work in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and balance on scaffolds or ladders.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs; work in varying weather.
• Follow safety policies and communicate with team.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface.
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units for bridges, walls, and other structures.
• Assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs as needed.
• Uses carpenter’s belt with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
