Job summary

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is seeking a Full-Time Carpenter Helper to join our team. The Carpenter Helper assists carpenters on the construction site, including repairing, constructing, or dismantling wood/metal/concrete objects on jobsites. Must identify hand and power tools and maintain clean work areas while preparing materials and sites for activity. PPE is required.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have good eyesight for site tasks and safety.
• Ability to work at heights and on roofs.
• Aptitude to operate machinery and use construction tools.
• Must wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, vest, gloves, and boots.
• Reliable team member with safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenter with building forms, chutes, rails, stairs and other structures.
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite; secure tools daily to prevent hazards.
• Perform material handling and storage tasks.
• Load/unload material from trucks and hoist as needed.
• Assist with punch list process and close-out procedures with PM/Owner/Architect.
• Report problems to Foreman or Safety Manager promptly.

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is currently seeking a Full-Time Carpenter Helper to join our team! The Carpenter Helper assists the carpenters on the construction site. This role assists with tasks such as repairing, constructing, or dismantling wooden/metal/concrete objects on construction jobsites. The position must be able to identify a variety of hand tools, power tools and equipment. This position will also keep work areas clean when needed and prepare material and sites for the work activity.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Assists the carpenter with carpentry duties to include but not limited to building forms, chutes, rails, stairs, and other structures as required.
• Maintains a clean jobsite, picks up all tools and equipment and secures tools on job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Performs material handling and storage.
• Loads and unloads material from trucks, manually hauls and/or hoists materials.
• Establish the punch list process and close-out procedures with the Project Manager, Owner, and Architect.
• Ensures that work is performed in a safe manner.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Reports problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
