Job summary

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is seeking a Full-Time Carpenter Helper to join our team. The role assists carpenters with constructing, repairing, and dismantling wooden and metal structures on job sites and helps prepare materials and maintain a clean, safe work area.

You must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and operate basic hand and power tools. PPE must be worn, and safety procedures followed; you will report to the Foreman and collaborate

Qualifications

Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work at heights and on roofs.
Aptitude to operate machinery and use basic hand/power tools.
Must wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, gloves, and work boots.

Responsibilities

Assists the carpenter with carpentry duties including building forms, chutes, rails, stairs, and other structures.
Maintains a clean jobsite and secures tools/equipment daily.
Performs material handling and storage.
Loads/unloads materials from trucks and hoists as needed.
Assist with punch list close-out procedures with project team.
Follow safety and incident reporting procedures; convey problems to foreman or safety manager.
