Job summary

Metromont Corporation is seeking a Carpenter in Georgia to construct wooden forms, frames, bulk heads, and block outs for concrete casting beds. You will review plans, assemble forms, and assist adjacent fabrication roles to ensure smooth production.

You should read blueprints, work in a team, and maintain safe working behaviors while using power tools and woodworking equipment. Indoor/outdoor duties apply, with varying schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
• Must be able to understand drawn formwork.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to work on a team.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
• Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and blueprints for daily woodwork.
• Create and assemble side rails, forms, bulk heads, and block outs for production beds.
• Assist fiber glass laminator, mold builder, and CNC operation when necessary.
• Build a wide range of wood forms and understand building techniques.
• Fabricate block outs and new window openings.
• Construct architectural molds.
• Determine design and drawing conflicts.
• Keep tools oiled and in good condition.
• Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
