Job summary

The Tepa Companies are seeking Carpenters to construct, erect, install, and repair structures on active construction sites across the Mountain States region. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, shape materials, and install floors, stairs, doors, and trim.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction, carpentry or concrete exposure, and are comfortable using power and hand tools. A valid driver's license, ability to travel, and the ability to pass drug screens are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general construction experience, including exposure to carpentry, and/or concrete work.
• Experience operating equipment and hand tools on construction sites.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures specific to labor work, including OSHA standards.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check in compliance with federal regulation.

Responsibilities

• Reads and studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to materials and dimensions.
• Prepares layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers.
• Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements with saws, chisels, and planes.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring; builds stairs and installs partitions and cabinet work.
• Covers subfloor with building paper and lays floors; installs window frames, doors, trim, and hardware.
• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete; erects scaffolding and ladders.
