Job summary

The Tepa Companies (Mountain States Region) seek Laborers to perform physical labor at active construction sites. You will identify and operate tools, read plans, and assist with material handling while maintaining site safety and efficiency.

Candidates should have 2+ years of construction experience, familiarity with excavation work, and a solid understanding of OSHA safety practices. Per diem may apply for travelers; travel to various project sites within the region is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general construction experience
• Exposure to utility work, earth work, and/or concrete work
• Knowledge of power and hand tools
• Familiarity with excavation and backfilling methods
• Awareness of OSHA safety standards

Responsibilities

• Reads construction plans, instructions, and specifications
• Operates hand and power tools as needed
• Cleans and prepares sites to eliminate hazards
• Controls passing traffic
• Assists with loading, transporting, unloading, and furnishing materials
• Restocks worksite supplies and materials
• Identifies and follows safe working procedures
• Performs other physical labor tasks as assigned, including digging, backfilling, pouring concrete, and erecting equipment

You may be assigned to work at various project sites in the region as business needs require.Pay range: $19.81 - $30.76 per hour + per diem for travelers 95+ miles from the job site.ABOUT THE JOBThe Tepa Companies are seeking Laborers to perform tasks involving physical labor at active construction sites.Job Functions:Identifies and operates hand and power tools as needed, including air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical hoists, saws, power drills, skid steers, forklifts, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.Reads and interprets construction plans, instructions, and specifications.Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, including rubble and debris.Controls passing traffic.Signals Equipment Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment.Assists with loading, transporting, unloading, and furnishing materials, tools, and supplies.Restocks worksite supplies and materials as necessary.Identifies and follows safe working procedures.Identifies and stops unsafe work practices that present imminent danger to themselves and others.Performs other physical labor and responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to digging ditches and trenches, backfilling excavations, sealing structural components, measuring and recording areas, unloading and identifying materials, assembling and erecting equipment such as scaffolding, pouring concrete, setting braces to support the sides of excavations.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR2+ years of general construction experience, including exposure to utility work, earth work, and/or concrete workKnowledge of and ability to use power and hand tools, materials, and other equipment used on construction sitesKnowledge of excavation and backfilling methods, practices, and proceduresKnowledge of safety practices and procedures specific to labor work, including OSHA standardsExposure to trench safety, excavation safety, and other applicable safety standardsAbility to pass a drug screen and back ground check in compliance with federal regulation.Must possess a valid driver’s licenseEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
