Job summary

Redmax Events LLC is seeking a hands-on carpentry helper to support skilled carpenters building unique displays for major events. You’ll move ideas to finished builds by sanding, framing, prepping, assembling, and painting under supervision, with room to advance toward more skilled work.

You’ll read shop drawings, use common tools safely, lift up to 50 lbs, and adapt to the fast, event-driven schedule. The team emphasizes energy, growth, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters by handling sanding, framing, prep, assembly, and basic painting.

• Maintain clean, organized materials and work areas.
• Help with loading, unloading, and installs for events as needed.
• Progress toward higher-skill pieces as capability grows.

How You’ll Get To Contribute

We can always use extra hands in the shop, but this role is not meant to stay “extra hands” forever. You’ll help free up the carpenters for higher-skill work while learning and working toward becoming a highly-skilled carpenter yourself.

What You’ll Get To Do

• Help get unique photo moments, branded displays, scenic pieces, trade show features, and custom activationsfrom loose ideas to finished builds by handling sanding, painting, framing, prep, assembly, and other basic carpentry work
• Keep the carpenters focused on higher-skill work by owning the support pieces that slow the build down when they fall behind
• Make your part of the build match the plan by reading shop drawings and production notes before you start cutting, sanding, painting, or assembling
• Keep materials and work areas from turning into a project of their own, so the team can find what they need and keep moving
• Help projects leave the shop ready for the big event by assisting with loading, unloading, and installs when needed
• Build your way toward carpenter-level work by learning and taking on more of the higher-skill pieces as you’re ready

Who You Are

• You have some hands-on experience with carpentry, wood framing, sanding, painting, or similar build work
• You can read and understand shop drawings, even if you’re still building speed and confidence with them
• You know your way around common hand and power tools and how to operate them safely
• You want to use the assistant role to build stronger carpentry skills and have the drive to learn and grow
• “Every project is different” sounds good to you because you’d rather learn the next weird build than repeat the same one over and over
• Lift 50 lbs? No problem. You’re built for hands-on shop work

Even Better, But Not Required

• You’ve worked in scenic fabrication, exhibits, or event production before
• You’re familiar with woodworking tools and equipment
• You can handle low-voltage LED work

(Typical?) Schedule:

We’ll be honest, these are often wild builds with fast turnaround times, so the hours vary too much to list cleanly. The schedule follows the events, not a neat template. The upside is overtime pay when the work calls for it, inflated pay on travel jobs, and the kind of energy that comes from building cool stuff together under a deadline.

• 10 vacation days for salaried employees, 80 hours total, plus 4 additional hours for every year of employment
