Mortenson Construction is seeking a Carpenter Apprentice I to assist Journeyman and Foreman carpenters while learning the trade on site in Tucson, AZ. The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate reading of plans, and safe handling of carpentry tasks.

Responsibilities include setting up trailers, building temporary structures, and supporting rough and finish carpentry with a focus on quality and efficiency. Enrolled apprentices with a drive to learn are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in apprenticeship program.
• Previous experience on a construction site preferred.
• Must be able to read drawings and plans and work with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Journeyman and Foreman in carpentry tasks.
• Set up trailers and build temporary structures between office units.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
• Assist with shooting grades and elevations.
• Unload and stockpile materials; erect prefabricated components.
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks.
• Maintain safe work area and communicate effectively with team.
