Job summary

Vail Resorts is seeking a Carpenter for their Skilled Maintenance Crew located in Moran, WY. This summer seasonal position offers a starting wage of $19.00/hr and includes full-time hours. The Carpenter will perform routine and preventative maintenance, assist other trades, and ensure safe operation of tools. Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in carpentry and must possess a valid driver's license. Housing is available, and numerous employee benefits are provided including free access to National Parks and recreational activities.

Job Summary

The Skilled Maintenance Crew (Carpentry) team performs routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on facilities including roofing, framing, drywall, painting, stucco repairs, flooring repairs, door, and window repairs. Additionally, the carpenters are expected to assist in sign‑making and support technical trades as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the trade.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on doors, windows, and other facility equipment.
  • Take projects from concept to completion with excellent results.
  • Display consistency and accuracy in the completion of daily work orders.
  • Assist the Sign Shop in production tasks.
  • Be self-motivated and able to manage a seasonally high workload.
  • Assist other trades as workload permits (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Ensure that all power tools and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition.
  • Work with Mountain Services Coordinators to facilitate purchasing of necessary materials.
  • Ensure a proper stock of materials is maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent—required.
  • Three years’ experience in the carpentry trade—preferred.
  • Basic MIG welding skills—preferred.
  • Basic computer skills—preferred.
  • Read, write, and speak English—required.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license—required.
  • Intermediate skier or snowboarder—preferred.
