Summit Reconstruction and Restoration in Oregon is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our construction and restoration team. The Carpenter will perform a variety of residential and commercial carpentry tasks including framing, trim, siding, decking, drywall, doors, windows, flooring, and general repairs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of carpentry experience, can read blueprints, uses hand and power tools safely, and works well both independently and as part of a team on restoration projects

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years carpentry experience in residential/commercial settings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and measurements.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record and own basic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general carpentry and reconstruction work on residential and commercial properties.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
  • Perform framing, blocking, sheathing, and structural repairs as directed.
  • Install and repair doors, windows, trim, baseboards, cabinets, and other finish materials.
  • Install and repair siding, decking, railings, stairs, and exterior components.
  • Perform drywall installation, patching, mudding, and texturing as needed.
  • Perform floor installation and repairs when necessary.
  • Complete demolition and removal of damaged building materials.
  • Identify damaged or deteriorated materials and communicate concerns to the Project Manager or Supervisor.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Protect customer property and maintain a professional presence while working in occupied homes or businesses.
  • Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite-specific safety procedures.
  • Work effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and other members of the construction team.
  • Complete work according to project specifications, quality standards, and established timelines.
  • Properly handle, load, transport and store tools and materials.
  • Complete required job documentation, photographs, time records, and material information.
  • Perform other construction and restoration-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary (Job Overview)

Summit Reconstruction and Restoration is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to join our construction and restoration team. The Carpenter will perform a variety of residential and commercial carpentry and reconstruction work that may include (but will not be limited to) framing, trim, siding, decking, drywall, doors, windows, flooring, and general repairs.

The ideal candidate is experienced with hand and power tools, understands construction processes, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This position is ideal for a carpenter who enjoys variety and is comfortable working on restoration and reconstruction projects where every job may present a unique challenge of its own.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform general carpentry and reconstruction work on residential and commercial properties.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3+ years of previous experience in carpentry, construction, remodeling, restoration, or a related trade.
  • Ability to read and understand basic construction plans and measurements.
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction safety practices and proper PPE use.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working overhead.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have your own basic tools.
  • Pictures or projects previously completed are a plus!
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, if required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Carpentry - Strong understanding of common carpentry techniques and construction methods.
  • Tools & Equipment - Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment, taking all necessary safety precautions.
  • Measurement - Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic construction calculations.
  • Problem-Solving - Ability to identify issues and determine practical solutions in the field.
  • Quality - Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Safety - Ability to recognize jobsite hazards and follow established safety procedures. Proper use of PPE as well as complying to company, OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
  • Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Organization - Ability to manage materials, tools, and assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Adaptability - Comfortable working on a variety of projects and adjusting to changing jobsite conditions.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working overhead.
  • Climbing ladders and accessing elevated work spaces.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling construction materials and equipment.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Performing repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Working in confined or difficult-to-access areas when required.
