Job summary

Skillit in Houston is seeking a hands-on Carpenter to join our commercial construction crew. You will perform framing, formwork, and finish carpentry on slab-on-grade and multi-level projects, while following plans and specifications.

You must read drawings, measure precisely, and coordinate with foremen and trades to ensure quality and timely field execution. The role may include leading small crews and requires a commitment to job-site safety and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction carpentry experience with framing and formwork.
• Ability to read technical drawings and measurements.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
• Reliable transportation to Houston sites and dependable attendance.
• OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to complete safety training.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, formwork, layout, and installation of building components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and project specifications to lay out work accurately.
• Set, build, and strip concrete forms; install blocking, framing, trim, doors, and other finish materials.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free work area by following site safety rules, using PPE, and participating in toolbox talks and site-specific training.
• Coordinate with foremen, trades, and project teams to ensure quality installation and timely field execution.

About this roleJoin a commercial construction crew in Houston as a Carpenter responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work with strong craftsmanship and attention to detail.
