Benchmark Construction Company is seeking a skilled carpenter for our Lancaster, PA operations. You will read blueprints, lay out and frame structures, and install finishes with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and safety on a busy job site.

You will join a collaborative team that values craftsmanship, reliability, and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset. Reporting to the Field department, this role offers growth through hands‑on experience and continuous training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of carpentry experience through on‑the‑job training, vocational school, or apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural/site blueprints.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to keep projects moving.
• Accurate measurements, fractions, and quick calculations to ensure precise fit.
• Proficient with essential carpenter hand and power tools.
• Collaborative work style with clear communication on a busy site.
• Familiar with OSHA safety rules and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Punctual, hardworking, and dedicated to finishing tasks correctly.
• Able to lift and maneuver heavy materials and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, measure twice, cut once to ensure precision.
• Frame walls, anchor bolts, and verify structural integrity.
• Lay out footers, pour and finish concrete for foundations.
• Install sheathing, weatherproofing, and exterior siding.
• Hang drywall and install interior doors, trim, and hardware.
• Identify and solve on-site issues while keeping momentum.
• Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors, and teammates.
• Prioritize safety and enforce good housekeeping on site.
• Maintain organized tools and a clean, efficient workspace.
• Deliver quality workmanship on time and to spec.
• Adapt to varying daily tasks from demolition to finishes.
