Job summary

Michels Corporation in Wisconsin seeks a skilled Carpenter to design, construct, and repair structures across diverse projects. You will work with wood, steel, masonry and related materials, handling doors, trim, drywall and hardware while following blueprints to layout work and estimate materials and timelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of carpentry or related experience, strong mechanical aptitude, extensive power tool use, and the ability to read shop drawings.

• Mechanic­al aptitude and extensive experience with power tools.
• Proficient in reading blueprints or shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and repair structures using wood, steel, masonry, and related materials.
• Complete projects including doors, hardware, trim, drywall.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials for defects and repair as needed.
• Read blueprints to prepare project layouts and material estimates.
• Prepare estimates of project cost, logistics, and timeline for completion.

As a Carpenter you are responsible for designing, constructing, and repairing structures. This role will complete building construction, maintenance, and repair projects as needed, using a variety of materials, such as wood, steel, masonry, etc. Projects to include, but are not limited to, doors, hardware, trim, and drywall. This role will also inspect equipment, structures, and materials for defects to identify issues, and repair as needed, use blueprints to prepare project layouts and determine materials needed for current and future projects and prepare estimates of project cost, logistics, and timeline for completion. Critical for success is the ability to give attention to detail and work well independently.

What it takes:

• 5+ years of carpentry, building construction, or related experience
• Mechanical aptitude and extensive experience with power tools
• Proficient in reading blueprints or shop drawings
• OSHA 10-hour certification, or the ability to obtain within one month
• Must possess a valid drivers license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michells Review Team
