Job summary

The City of Shelby is seeking a semiskilled worker to operate the carrousel and miniature train rides, enforce rules and safety regulations, and handle ticket sales and revenue records. Work is performed under the Amusement Supervisor's moderate supervision.

Essential duties include ride operation, rider education, safety inspections, facility openings/closures, and coordinating ride setups for parties. A high school diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certs are required upon hire; valid NC

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimal experience in customer service or public interactions.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate the miniature train, carrousel equipment and riding devices.
• Educate riders on proper use and safety measures.
• Enforce posted rules and safety regulations.
• Supervise all ride-related activities and assist guests on/off rides.
• Sell tickets and collect fees; maintain basic revenue records.
• Open and close ride facilities.
• Inspect rides and area for hazards; maintain safe conditions.
• Perform light cleaning to keep rides and areas tidy.
• Set up for parties and coordinate with renters.
