Safe Harbor Home Care in San Diego is seeking Personal Care Attendants to provide compassionate non-medical support at clients' homes and in the community, helping them stay independent.

Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance, meal planning, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Able to obtain during onboarding: TB certificate, CA HCA registration and active number.
• Onboarding requires background checks and orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance if transporting clients.
• Excellent communication and compassionate care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulation, and transferring.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed "Criminal Record Statement" (LIC 508)
• Complete "Personnel Record" (LIC 501)
• Complete "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders" (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)
• Current drivers' license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
