Job summary

Safe Harbor Home Care in San Diego is seeking Personal Care Attendants/Caregivers to deliver non-medical in-home support. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, grooming, meal planning, mobility assistance and companionship, with medication reminders and light housekeeping as part of daily care.

Applicants must be 18+, have valid I-9 documents, and obtain required registrations and TB clearance. Driver’s license preferred for certain shifts.

• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and personal care including bathing, dressing, feeding, transferring, ambulation, and toileting.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor client safety.
• Perform light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, and errands as needed.
• Offer companionship and respectful, client-centered care.
• Ensure care is delivered in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred:

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
