Safe Harbor Home Care in San Diego provides in-home personal care services to clients unable to fully care for themselves. Caregivers assist with daily living activities, personal care, housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship in clients' homes and communities.

Role requires compassion, reliability, and compliance with CA state regulations. Ongoing onboarding includes regulatory verifications and orientation. Flexible hours and growth opportunities are offered in a friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Able to obtain: CA Home Care Aide Registry clearance, TB certificate, CA HCA number, LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement, LIC 501 Personnel Record
• SOC 341A acknowledgment and orientation training requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care (bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, medication reminders, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, companionship)
• Provide non-medical in-home care in clients' homes and communities
• Ensure care is delivered with compassion, respect, and in line with agency policies and state regulations

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred:

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)

• - mouth care - dressing - exercising
