Safe Harbor Home Care in San Diego is hiring Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers to provide non-medical services in clients' homes and communities. You will assist with daily living activities, bathing, dressing, meal planning, mobility, and companionship to help clients remain in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Eligibility to obtain onboarding documents (I-9, etc.).
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry.
• Current TB certificate.
• Registered with the state of CA and active HCA number.
• Completed LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.
• Completed LIC 501 Personnel Record.
• Completed SOC 341A Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse.
• Minimum five hours of orientation before working with clients.
• Valid driver's license (if transporting clients).
• Valid vehicle insurance if using a vehicle during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care including bathing, dressing, ambulation.
• Provide mouth care, medication reminders, transfer and toileting assistance.
• Support with meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping and transportation as needed.
• Ensure services are delivered in a caring and respectful manner per agency policies.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed "Criminal Record Statement" (LIC 508)
• Complete "Personnel Record" (LIC 501)
• Complete "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders" (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)
• Current drivers' license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
