Job summary

Mercy in Missouri seeks a patient transport driver to operate a Mercy transport van, pick up and deliver patients per guidelines, assist non-ambulatory and ambulatory patients, and ensure safety during transfers. This role requires a valid driver’s license and BLS certification; performance includes vehicle inspection, cleanliness, and fueling.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required; Class E or equivalent where applicable.
• BLS certification preferred/required.
• Competent with lift/transfer techniques and safe patient handling.
• Ability to communicate clearly via UHF radio with dispatch; report defects to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mercy patient transport van for pick-up and delivery of patients.
• Ensure safe transfer of non-ambulatory and ambulatory patients to and from the vehicle.
• Inspect the van daily; keep it clean and fueled; report any deficiencies promptly.
• Provide exceptional customer service consistent with Mercy’s mission, values and standards.
