Job summary

Seniors Helping Seniors in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides to support clients in their own homes. This part-time role offers pay between $17 and $19 per hour and a flexible schedule within a patient-focused care team.

You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, mobility, and companionship, monitor health changes, and maintain clear records. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are preferred for visiting clients in the Fredericksburg area.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior care or home health settings preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and record systems advantageous.
• Strong observation skills to identify health changes.
• Ability to work with individuals with disabilities with patience and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Help with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to client dietary needs.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
• Monitor and document patient observations, including changes in condition or behavior.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Support clients with mobility assistance, including transferring from bed to wheelchair or assisting with walking.
• Implement care plans as established by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to medical guidelines.
• Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide hospice care support when necessary, ensuring comfort during end-of-life care.
