Job summary

The Server at Harmony Senior Services in Fredericksburg, VA is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting the dining room after meal service. You will assist residents when placing menu orders and provide beverage service.

The role requires physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full and part-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow simple instructions.
• Must perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Must learn quickly and apply learned principles.
• Must communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry heavy objects 20 ft.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 3 hours.
• Must be organized and collaborative.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must wear a clean designated uniform and maintain hygiene.
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously.
• Assist residents with menu orders.
• Provide beverage service.
• Clean and reset dining room after meals.
• Report broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Assist with tray service.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors.
