Job summary

Bayview Seattle is seeking Food Services Waitstaff to deliver prompt, courteous dining service in the communal dining room. You will set tables, serve meals and beverages, and maintain a clean, inviting dining area for residents, guests and staff.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, patience with the elderly and disabled, and adherence to food handling standards in a non-exempt hourly position.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service orientation and a pleasant disposition.
• Prefer 1+ year experience in a food service setting.
• Caring attitude toward elderly and disabled persons.
• Ability to diffuse angry or challenging customers.
• Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• WA Food Handler’s permit must be held.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Knowledge of HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents, guests and staff with prompt, efficient, and courteous service in the dining room.
• Set tables in an attractive manner prior to meal service.
• Serve food and beverages in a professional manner.
• Clear tables and clean dining areas in a timely manner.
• Provide information to customers regarding food and meal services.
• Receive and respond to comments related to Food Service.
