Job summary

Forest Glen Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield, OH, is seeking a Dietary Cook or Aide to support our kitchen team and ensure residents receive nourishing meals in a clean and welcoming environment. You’ll cook well-balanced meals, help with plating, deliver trays, and maintain food safety, inventory, and sanitation while collaborating with the dietary team on special diets.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare preferred.
• Understanding of basic nutrition and food safety is a plus.
• Ability to work well in a team and take direction.
• Compassionate attitude and a genuine interest in resident well-being.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Cook nutritious, well-balanced meals per menus and resident needs
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
• Ensure timely meal preparation and service
• Collaborate with the dietary team on special diets and preferences
• Keep kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with regs
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies
• Assist in meal prep and plating under supervision
• Deliver food trays to residents in dining areas or rooms
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment
• Follow dietary plans for residents with modified diets
