Job summary

Forest Glen Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield, OH, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook or Aide to support our kitchen team and deliver nourishing meals to residents in a clean, welcoming environment.

In this role you will follow menus, maintain food safety standards, assist with special diets, ensure timely meal service, keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, and work with staff to provide friendly, respectful service to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare preferred.
• Understanding of basic nutrition and food safety is a plus.
• Ability to work well in a team and take direction.
• Compassionate attitude and genuine interest in resident well-being.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook well-balanced, tasty meals in accordance with facility menus and resident needs.
• Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to address special diets and preferences.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Assist in meal preparation and plating under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary Manager.
• Deliver food trays and beverages to residents in dining areas or rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining rooms, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and food prep surfaces following sanitation guidelines.
• Follow dietary plans for residents with modified or restricted diets.
• Stock food and supplies, rotate inventory, and report shortages.
• Provide friendly and respectful service to all residents and team members.

What You’ll Do:

Cook
