Parker Towing Company operates Ports and Terminals in Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee; Decatur, Pickensville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Axis, and Mobile, Alabama. This opening is for our Port in Decatur, Alabama, with potential assignments at other facilities.

Positions offer progression within Operations and Management based on aptitude. Responsibilities include forklift operation, loading/unloading barges, assisting crane operators, and facility maintenance.

Competenze

• Live within 50 miles of the assigned port.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and twist frequently.
• Able to push/pull carts, pallets, or equipment.
• Able to reach above shoulders and below waist level.
• Able to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms.
• Able to climb ladders or stairs as needed.
• Work schedule is flexible with possible overtime and occasional weekends/holidays.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors.

• Operate forklift (up to 80,000 lbs) to lift and place steel coils.

Parker Towing Company operates Ports and Terminals in Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee; Decatur, Pickensville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Axis, and Mobile, Alabama. Qualified applicants must be motivated to work a flexible schedule, eager to work with a multitude of cargos, be prepared to serve our customers in a variety of projects and accept variances in work schedule to include occasional weekends and holidays. Some travel may be required.

• This particular job opening is for our Port in Decatur, Alabama, though the job may require some work at our other facilities from time to time.

Motivated candidates will have the opportunity to progress within the organization and potentially qualify for differing positions in Operations and Management based upon skill sets and aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Forklift Operation (80,000 lbs.) primarily lifting and Placing Steel Coils
• Operating Skid Steers, Other Forklifts and Equipment
• Assist loading/unloading barges
• Assist with cleaning barges
• Assist crane operators
• Unload/load trucks
• Assist in the maintenance of the facility

Requirements
