Position Summary

The Warehouse Loader / Unloader is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing shipments while maintaining accurate material handling and warehouse organization. This position requires the operation of warehouse equipment, including an Aisle Master forklift and standard forklift, as well as the physical handling of products and materials.

The Loader / Unloader is expected to follow all safety procedures, verify materials and shipments for accuracy, report discrepancies or damage, and support the overall efficiency of warehouse and shipping operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload trucks, trailers, and other delivery vehicles.
• Operate an Aisle Master forklift, standard forklift, pallet jack, and other approved material‑handling equipment.
• Move, stage, and store raw materials, finished goods, pallets, and other inventory in designated warehouse locations.
• Verify materials being loaded or unloaded against shipping documents, bills of lading, packing slips, or other required paperwork.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for visible damage, incorrect quantities, incorrect product, or other discrepancies.
• Properly secure and position materials to prevent damage during movement, storage, or shipment.
• Ensure materials are placed in the correct warehouse locations and clearly identified.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory by following established material movement and transaction procedures.
• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, incorrect materials, or shipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized loading docks, aisles, staging areas, and warehouse locations.
• Follow FIFO, lot control, location control, or other inventory requirements as applicable.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities when required.
• Complete required shipping, receiving, and material‑handling documentation accurately.
• Follow all company safety policies, forklift requirements, PPE requirements, and warehouse procedures.
• Perform daily or pre‑shift equipment inspections and immediately report unsafe or damaged equipment.
• Communicate effectively with Shipping, Receiving, Production, Inventory Control, and other departments.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity throughout the workday.

• Must be able to consistently lift and handle materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive material‑handling activities.
• Must be able to safely enter, exit, and operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and vehicle traffic.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material‑handling experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Experience operating an Aisle Master forklift is preferred; training may be provided based on company requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required company forklift/equipment authorization.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents, product labels, part numbers, quantities, and warehouse locations.
• Basic math and counting skills.
• Ability to accurately compare products and paperwork to identify discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime when required.
