Job summary

New York City Housing Authority is seeking a Caretaker (HA) to perform plastering and related maintenance across NYCHA developments. The role requires traveling within the assigned Brooklyn neighborhoods such as Breukelen, Cypress Hills, Pink and Vandalia to cover multiple sites.

There are no formal education requirements; NYCHA provides healthcare, deferred compensation, and a NYCERS pension as part of the benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Mix plastering materials properly.
• Apply plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces using hawk, trowel, Darby, slicker; work dots and screeds; apply scratch, brown and finish coats.
• Perform lathing and plastering bases (channel iron, wire lath, etc.).
• Perform dust control and clean up.

NOTE: Travel to Developments within assigned neighborhood is a requirement. This position will cover Brooklyn Neighborhood 02 which include Breukelen, Cypress Hills, Pink and Vandalia.
