Job summary

SAFE Alliance seeks a CARES Case Manager (Bilingual) for the Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention Services program in the SAFE CARES department. The role coordinates client services, ensures safety and stability, and facilitates long-term healing and self-sufficiency.

The position includes travel between campuses, some remote/hybrid work, and a language differential for bilingual English/Spanish speakers. Competitive salary with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required; able to communicate clearly in both languages.
  • Experience in case management, social services, housing support, advocacy or child welfare systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor advocacy best practices.
  • Equivalent years of professional-level relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.

CARESCase Manager (Bilingual) (Liza's House Campus)

SAFE Alliance seeks a CARES Case Manager (Bilingual) for the Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention Services program in the SAFE CARES department to coordinate client services, ensure safety and stability, and facilitate long-term healing and self-sufficiency. The case manager will provide prevention, crisis intervention, and safety planning assistance, along with stress management and life skills development, identifying and applying for resources and meeting basic needs in the community as well as staffing and leading activities at Liza's House (CARES Drop-In center).

The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.

Over the past two years, SAFE has served 11,397 clients across our programs. During that time, SAFE reached more than 50,000 community members through over 2,000 trainings, provided more than 150,000 nights and days of shelter and housing support, and delivered over 53,000 crisis intervention and advocacy services through our 24/7 hotline, walk-in advocacy, and direct support programs.

We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $50,000 - $52,000 dependent upon experience and an additional annual language differential of $3,600 for those who are English/Spanish bilingual. The work location will be based at all major SAFE Alliance Campuses in the Austin metroplex.This position will include some travel in the community or between campuses and will allow for some remote/hybrid work. The shift currently available is one that requires you to quickly respond to and report critical issues or risk management situations within 1 hour during scheduled work hours. The potential to serve in an 24 hour on call rotation as needed with the ability to respond to crisis in person within (90mins.). Routinely staff shifts at Drop-In location with the flexibility to cover shifts as necessary for ratio.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, or abuse preferred.
  • Experience in case management, social services, housing support, advocacy or child welfare system preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices in survivor advocacy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent years of professional-level relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is required; fluency being the ability to clearly and accurately communicate to convey information using the Spanish language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • Substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner and the manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, or move objects.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time including up to 8 hours a day.
  • Requires travel between SAFE sites and homes or other locations around the community, therefore the work location will vary from an office setting to non-office settings.
  • This position requires driving. You must have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
  • This position requires completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program in person within six (6) months of starting employment, along with participating in annual continuing education throughout your employment.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.
