Job summary

Visiting Angels in Brookfield, CT is hiring compassionate caregivers to provide non-medical home care and companionship for seniors. Experience with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and daily living activities is preferred.

The role offers flexible shifts (FT/PT/Overnight/Live-In) with competitive pay ($16.94-$20/hour) and benefits including health plans, 401K, and training through Visiting Angels University. Travel to Brookfield and surrounding communities may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of caregiving experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical assistance and companionship to seniors at home.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other daily living activities.
• Support mobility and other hands-on care needs as appropriate.
• Run errands and provide transportation to appointments.
• Prepare meals, grocery shop, and perform light housekeeping.
• Monitor medication schedules and provide reminders throughout the day.

Caregiver Responsibilities:

• Provide non-medical assistance and companionship to seniors in their homes
• Provide personal care and hygiene assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living
• Assist clients with mobility and other hands‑on care needs as appropriate
• Help with household errands and provide transportation to and from appointments
• Perform grocery shopping, meal preparation tasks, and light housekeeping
• Monitor medication schedules and provide reminders throughout the day

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Minimum 12 months of caregiving experience
• Personal care experience preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have reliable or personal transportation
• Must Be Able to Speak and Read English
• Dementia Experience Preferred
• Certified Nurse's Aide / HHA preferred
• Ability to work in a facility environment preferred
