Job summary

Providence at Home with Compassus is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide one-on-one in-home care in Los Angeles County. You will assist clients with activities of daily living and support independence and safety in their homes.

The role requires a California driver’s license and auto insurance, plus experience with older adults or disabled individuals. BLS within 30 days and CNA or equivalent certification are desired; benefits include mileage reimbursement and paid training.

Qualifications

• Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Experience working with older adults and/or physically disabled individuals.
• Professional caregiver experience, nursing student clinical experience, or active CNA certification required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Active HCA registration (Home Care Aide).
• Preferred: 6 months professional caregiving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, incontinence care, transfers, and ambulation.
• Provide meal preparation, medication reminders, shopping, laundry, and light housekeeping.
• Support daily activities and exercises as directed by the Plan of Care.
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
• Build positive relationships with clients and families while delivering exceptional care.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In a healthcare setting, exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and conditions typical to the field is expected. Routine use of standard medical equipment and tools associated with clinical care is essential.
