Job summary

At Peace Healthcare Agency in Harrisburg is hiring compassionate Caregivers/PCAs to provide one-on-one, non-medical personal care and companionship in clients' homes.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience, reliable transportation, ability to assist with ADLs, mobility and medication reminders, and to pass background checks. We offer weekly pay, direct deposits, referrals, and benefits.

Qualifications

• TB testing proof required.
• Must be physically able to perform essential duties.
• Must have reliable transportation and, if transporting clients, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass criminal background and fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one, non-medical personal care and companionship in clients' homes.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Support meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry and home safety.
• Offer mobility assistance and transportation to appointments when needed.
• Provide medication reminders according to care plans and encourage independence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate, non‑medical support to clients in their homes.

PERSONAL CARE

• Bathing and grooming
• Toileting and incontinence care
• Dressing and personal hygiene
• Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)

HOME & DAILY LIVING SUPPORT

• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Laundry and maintaining a safe environment
• Assistance with daily routines

COMPANIONSHIP & SUPPORT

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Encourage independence and social engagement
• Assist clients with daily activities

MOBILITY ASSISTANCE

• Assistance with ambulation and transfers
• Supporting safe movement throughout the home

MEDICATION REMINDERS

• Provide medication reminders according to the client's care plan

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE

• Transportation to medical appointments
• Assistance with errands and community activities, when applicable

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year of personal care experience preferred
• Experience as a Caregiver, PCA, HHA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Direct Care Worker, or similar role is a plus
• Proof of current TB testing required
• Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
• Must have reliable transportation
• If transporting clients, must have a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be mature, caring, punctual, and dependable
• Must successfully pass required criminal background and fingerprint checks
