Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - Edenton is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with daily living needs in a supportive, respectful environment.

Pay starts at $17.50 per hour, with first and second shift opportunities, comprehensive benefits, and growth pathways within the organization. In this role you will assist clients with self-care, meals, transportation, community activities and medication administration, while following safety protocols and individualized plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• NC Driver's License.
• 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients in self-care activities (dressing, bathing, toileting).
• Assist during meals to ensure family style dining.
• Assist with housekeeping tasks (clothing care, cleaning, yard work).
• Assist with meals and nutritional supplements preparation.
• Assist in administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Implement prescribed diet orders and use adaptive equipment.
• Follow behavior programs, collect data, and follow safety procedures.
• Support active treatment, document data, and help achieve service goals.
• Communicate client information with supervisory staff as directed.
• Transport and monitor clients in company vehicles.
• Assist during community outings, school, and day program activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by managers.

Shift Details: 1st and 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
• Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
• Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.
