Job summary

Avamere Communities seeks a compassionate Caregiver-Memory Care to support residents at Avamere at Seaside in Seaside, Oregon. The role covers activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and resident safety in a memory care setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, meal setup, and monitoring health while maintaining confidentiality and a cheerful, warm environment for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Requires CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Food Handler’s Card required.
• Experience in Memory Care preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Age 18+ and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor health, report concerns, and advocate for residents' needs.
• Support orientation for new residents and staff as needed.

Type: Part-Time
Shift: Various schedule/shifts, Weekend availability needed
Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, includingassisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
