Job summary

Avamere at Bethany in Portland, OR is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Caregiver for Memory Care to support residents with daily living, emotional well-being, and safety. The role includes evening shifts (2-10pm) Thursday-Saturday and a wage range of $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE.

Responsibilities include ADLs, mobility assistance, meals, companionship, housekeeping, health monitoring, and maintaining confidentiality. Attendance bonuses apply per pay period for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Support mobility and safe transfers; assist with meals and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship; engage residents socially.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment including laundry and light housekeeping.
• Monitor health and vital signs; report concerns to medical staff.
• Respond to resident calls promptly and maintain confidentiality; support orientation of new residents and staff.

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
