Job summary

Avamere at Bethany in Portland, OR is seeking a compassionate part-time caregiver for the swing shift (2-10pm, Thu-Sat). The role involves assisting with ADLs, mobility, meal prep, and providing emotional support to residents in a memory care/assisted living setting.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, health monitoring, and maintaining a safe, warm environment. CPR/First Aid certification and a Food Handler's Card are required or must be obtained during employment.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for seniors in memory care or assisted living preferred.

• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Support mobility and transfers, including use of mobility aids.
• Assist with meal setup, food prep, and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Monitor residents' health and report concerns to nursing staff.

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.

• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment
