Position Overview
Aveanna Healthcare has experienced significant growth through recent acquisitions, and we are currently seeking an Agency Respite Care Provider to join our dynamic team.
An Agency Respite Care Provider provides non-medical personal care, assistance, and companionship for clients requiring supervision due to developmental disabilities, intellectual deficiencies, or other health conditions.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including ambulation, transfers, and gait assistance.
- Provide hands-on and/or stand-by assistance during client transfers and ambulation, ensuring safety and proper use of aids.
- Assist with grooming and hygiene activities, such as washing hands and face.
- Prepare and serve meals/snacks following nutritional guidelines to ensure proper intake.
- Assist clients with dressing changes as needed.
- Support toileting needs, including assistance with toilet, urinal, bedpan, and diaper changes, maintaining cleanliness.
- Engage clients in appropriate conversations, avoiding personal disclosures and discussions about their families.
- Teach, train, and encourage clients to perform tasks and learn new skills as directed by parents or guardians.
- Entertain clients through reading, games, puzzles, etc.
- Follow instructions from parents regarding behavioral issues, including redirection and management of aggression.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policies, including HIPAA laws.

Minimum Requirements
- Experience working with disabled populations.
- Physical and mental ability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proper hygiene and professional attire.
- CPR/First Aid certification (as required).
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and acceptable MVR.
- Ability to read 12-point font or larger.
- Clear speech and hearing ability.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and travel to client residences.
- Ability to lift, turn, and transfer clients up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
