Job summary

Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS) is seeking a Caregiver/Direct Care Provider (PRN) in Plano, TX to support patients with brain injuries in ADLs and home programs within a residential setting. You will supervise and train patients, enabling activities of daily living and participation in community-based activities.

The role offers competitive pay with a starting wage of $17.00/hr and pathways to higher pay through continuing education, with daily pay options and 3pm–11:30pm shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Teach, monitor, and document individual patient programs including ADLs and therapeutic home programs in English.
• Perform bed, bath, toilet, and chair transfers (up to 20 times per shift) using approved transfer techniques.
• Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and yourself during interactions with patients who may have behavioral outbursts.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, your role as a Caregiver/Direct Care will involve supervising and directly training patients with brain injuries in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and therapeutic home programs. You'll be working in a beautiful residential apartment/home-like setting, offering skilled instruction and supervision to patients. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage in social, recreational, shopping, and entertainment activities in community settings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Teach, monitor, administer and document individual patient programs including ADL's and therapeutic home programs in English.
• Perform bed, bath, toilet, and chair transfers (up to 20 times per shift) using approved transfer techniques.
• Ensure for the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and yourself when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.

Experience and Education

• Educational Background: Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License, with a clean a driving record
• Work Experience: Successful completion of a drug screen, health screen, and criminal record check (fingerprints) for caregiver positions.
