Job summary

Centre for Neuro Skills in Irving, Texas is seeking a Caregiver/Direct Care Provider (PRN) to support brain-injured patients in a residential setting, supervising and training them in ADLs and therapeutic home programs. You will engage in social and recreational activities and ensure safety during interactions.

Starting wage is $17.00/hr, with potential to earn up to $21.25/hr within six months, plus a $1/hr shift differential for the 3pm–11:30pm shift; daily pay is available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of drug screen, health screen, and background check.
• Ability to supervise and train patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Ability to engage patients in community activities in a respectful and safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Teach, monitor, and document ADL programs and therapeutic activities.
• Assist with bed, bath, toilet, and chair transfers as required.
• Maintain safety for patients, staff, and visitors during interactions.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, your role of Caregiver/Direct Care will involve supervising and directly training patients with brain injuries in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and therapeutic home programs. You'll be working in a beautiful residential apartment/home-like setting, offering skilled instruction and supervision to patients. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage in social, recreational, shopping, and entertainment activities in community settings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Teach, monitor, administer and document individual patient programs including ADL's and therapeutic home programs in English.
• Perform bed, bath, toilet, and chair transfers (up to 20 times per shift) using approved transfer techniques.
• Ensure for the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and yourself when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.

Experience and Education

• Educational Background: Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License, with a clean a driving record
• Work Experience: Successful completion of a drug screen, health screen, and criminal record check (fingerprints) for caregiver positions.
