Job summary

Family Resource Home Care is seeking Caregivers in The Dalles and surrounding areas to support clients across Hood River and Wasco counties. Day shifts and flexible hours are available; training is provided and local client assignments will fit your availability.

Responsibilities include daily living activities, light housework, meal preparation, transportation, and companionship. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and background checks are required, with Spanish speakers encouraged

Qualifications

• 18 years+
• Pass state and national background checks
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Ability to complete caregiver training as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including cleaning, cooking, bathing, dressing and grooming
• Provide companionship and engage clients in daily activities
• Transport clients in a reliable vehicle and accompany them to appointments
• Monitor client condition and report changes to the team

Current needs:

• Open to all level of care experience - we will train!
• Heavily needs for Caregivers in Hood River and The Dalles
• Open weekend shifts for anyone looking for part-time work
• Variety of short shifts (can be stacked for fuller schedule!)
• Bilingual Caregivers needed - (Spanish speaking preferred)

Pay:

$21-$21.50 depending on level of care given, + paid training and mileage reimbursement.

Caregiver Job Duties:

Our caregivers support their clients in activities of daily living such as (but not limited to):

• Household chores (cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.)
• Cooking and/or serving meals
• Helping clients bathe, dress, and groom
• Providing companionship through daily activities and hobbies
• Driving clients (as needed) to the store or appointments
• Monitoring and reporting on their condition
• REQUIRED: must be able to transport clients in reliable vehicle, driver's license and active auto insurance

Additional Information:

• If you have not previously completed the state-required 8-hour Home Care Pulse caregiver training, you will be required to complete the training along with the nurse‑led medication training before you can work with clients. You will be paid to complete both trainings!
• Looking for caregiver who reside in Hood River or the Dalles for local clients.

Requirements:

• 18 years+
• Ability to pass a state and national background check
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and clean driving record
• Ability to complete state‑required caregiver/HCA training as needed
• Ability to adapt to flexible schedules
• REQUIRED: must be able to transport clients in reliable vehicle, have WA or OR driver's license and active auto insurance
