Job summary

Avamere is seeking a dedicated Caregiver for Arete Desert Sage Memory Care in Bend, OR. The role covers evening and night shifts, with full-time and part-time options to support residents in daily living, safety, and comfort.

You will provide ADL assistance, companionship, and monitoring in a respectful, warm setting designed for seniors in memory care and assisted living environments.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain during employment.
• Food Handler’s Card required or ability to obtain.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve life for seniors; calm, patient environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Provide mobility support and help with transfers and use of mobility aids.
• Meal preparation assistance and tray removal as needed.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Monitor residents’ health and report concerns; observe changes and Vital signs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and confidential environment; support orientation of new residents and staff.

Schedule: Eve Shift (2p-10p) & Noc Shift (10p-6a)

Location: Arete Desert Sage Memory Care - 1010 NE Purcell Blvd, Bend, OR 97701

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, includingassisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
