CiminoCare, Inc. is hiring compassionate Memory Care caregivers for the AM shift. This full-time role focuses on providing 1:1 care to residents in Citrus Heights, CA, with emphasis on compassion, safety, and daily living support.

Qualifications

• Must complete physical exam and TB test within 7 days after hire.
• DSS fingerprint and criminal background check required for employment.
• FIRST-AID certification must be current.
• Skills and abilities: compassionate elderly care; ability to care for several residents at once.
• Organizational skills and ability to maintain order and efficiency; keep pace daily.
• Must think and act according to policies and licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Know location and disposition of residents under direct care.
• Ensure residents look clean and presentable throughout the day.
• Assist with dressing, grooming, and personal care as needed.
• Keep resident rooms tidy and beds made; manage clothing storage.
• Provide comfort, safety, and enjoyment for residents.
• Document changes and report to Shift Manager/ RCC or Administrator.
• Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and required meetings.
• Read, follow, and sign care plans and updates during shifts.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance.
• Assist with bathing, meals, and daily activities as scheduled.
• Maintain positive, cooperative attitude with residents and guests.
• Follow written schedules and ensure all documentation is current.

SUMMARY: The purpose of this position guide is to establish and define the duties, responsibilities, authority and reporting relationships of the position of the Caregiver. The caregiver is the key person delivering direct hands-on care to the residents. Their work is center piece of the facility’s day-to-day operations. Reports to either Shift Manager, Care Coordinator or Administrator.

RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:

• Know the location and disposition of all residents (under direct care) at all times
• Ensure each resident looks clean and presentable throughout the day
• Assist with dressing, applying make-up, combing hair, cleaning eyeglasses, and assisting with other personnel grooming tasks as needed
• Keep residents’ rooms in proper order throughout the day, including tidying rooms, making beds and putting clothes away
• Assist residents by providing for their comfort, safety and enjoyment
• Keep any internal charts current, know of each resident’s needs and report all observed physical and emotional changes in residents to the shift manager or RCC (Resident Care Coordinator) or Administrator. Report should occur by the end of the shift and should be documented in the change-over notes, unless immediate intervention is needed
• Attend periodic staff meetings and in-service training and mandatory meeting as required
• Read, follow and sign any care plans and posted messages and/or updates during each shift
• Observe Resident’s Rights, as posted within the facility
• Promptly respond to resident calls for assistance
• In Emergency situations, assist residents according to the Emergency Plan of the facility
• Assist with First Aid as directed
• Maintain a cooperative and cheerful attitude when relating to residents or their guests
• Assist with bathing and dressing of residents as scheduled or directed
• Assist residents at mealtimes as directed or needed
• Assist residents with personal hygiene needs as needed throughout the shift
• Assist residents with daily recreational activities, including crafts, games, music and exercise and encourage participation
• Follow any written work schedules and service schedules
• Residents in group are all receiving quality care
• All required documentation being done properly and in timely manner
• Schedule is being followed
• Perform other duties assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Each employee must have a physical examination and tuberculin test performed by a physician. The tests are to be completed (with results) within seven (7) days after hire (unless regulations stipulate completion before employment.) If the exams are not completed within this time, the employee will be placed on suspension until they are completed.
• The Department of Social Services (DSS) licensing agency requires that fingerprints cards and an affidavit on criminal convictions be submitted for the purpose of conducting a criminal record review. The DSS will issue an approval or denial according to the criminal clearance reports. An approval must be obtained in order to retain employment.
• All employees must keep their FIRST-AID certification current
• Skills, knowledge and abilities: skill in compassionately caring for elderly, knowledge of proper caregiving techniques and the ability to care for several residents at one time
• Organizational skills: must be able to maintain order and efficiency in performing job duties, maintain constant pace
• Mental: must be able to handle stress well, stay calm under pressure. Must be able to think and make decisions consistent with policies and procedures and licensing regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• At least some prior experience in caring
• At least 18 years or older, required
• Certified Nurse Assistant and/or Home Health Aide Certificate, preferred
