Job summary

The Covington is hiring a Caregiver to support residents with daily living activities and enhance their quality of life in a compassionate community. This role includes 2 AM and 2 PM shifts for full-time staffing and an additional part-time shift, with a strong benefits package.

You will assist with daily activities, transport residents to meals and events, respond to calls, document observations in the EMR, and may perform light housekeeping as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred or equivalent.
• First Aid Certification required.
• Basic computer skills with EMR/charting experience.
• Able to work as scheduled with punctuality and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (hygiene, dressing, ambulation, meals) per care plan.
• Transport or escort residents to meals, activities, appointments, and outings.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance.
• Observe residents and report changes to supervisor and nurse; document in EMR.

Job Schedule

1 Fulltime: 2AM Shifts & 2 PM shifts, 1 Part-time shift

Eligible for Shift Differentials

additional pay premiums to compensate employees for working hours and shifts other than regular day shifts.

Here’s how it works:

• 3% for evening shifts
• 5% for NOC shifts
• 7% for weekend shifts
• Differentials can be used in combination with others, for example...
• 10% for weekend evening shift
• 12% for weekend NOC shift

What You’ll Do:

• Promotes independence while assisting residents with activities of daily living including but not limited to personal hygiene, dressing, ambulation, and meal service in accordance with the care plan.
• Encourages socialization and physical activity by transporting or escorting residents to meals, activities, appointments, and outings as required.
• Responds quickly and courteously to resident calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance.
• Observes resident regularly and reports any change in the condition to supervisor and nurse on duty. Records changes and observations in electronic medical record system.
• May perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal service to resident assigned.

The Skills You’ll Need:

• High school education preferred, or up to six months related experience and/or training.
• Must have First Aid Certification.
• Basic computer skills with experience using electronic medical records/charting required.
• Ability to work as scheduled while demonstrating punctuality and dependability.
• Must be willing and able to walk for multiple hours per shift with ease.
