Job summary

Compass Senior Living is seeking CAREGIVERS for full-time or on-call/PRN roles in Oregon. You’ll assist elders with daily living activities, monitor health, provide companionship, help with meals, and support engaging activities. Strong English communication and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Licensing documentation (if required by state) and ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to Wellness Team.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with meals and possibly feed residents needing support.
• Support residents in life-enriching social and recreational activities.
• Communicate with residents, families, and team members.
• Help with light housekeeping to maintain cleanliness.

What You’ll Do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well‑being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
