Charlottes Place Adult Family Home in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated part-time caregiver for day shift 3-4 days per week (28-36 hrs). You will assist residents with daily living activities, administer medications as directed, and maintain a safe, clean home environment.

Experience with memory care and using a Hoyer is preferred. The role requires compassion, reliability and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including nurses and therapists.

Qualifications

• Active CNA/HCA license required prior to hire.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required prior to hire.
• Background check to be completed upon hire.
• Food handlers card required by start date.
• Nurse and Diabetic Delegation certifications to be obtained by start date.
• Dementia and Mental Health certificates to be completed within 90 days of start date.
• Annual 12 hours of continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Provide personal care including toileting and incontinence care.
• Administer medications as directed by a licensed nurse.
• Support memory care with memory-stimulation activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment.
• Engage residents in recreational and social activities.
• Respect residents' rights and promote dignity.
• Document care provided and progress.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other caregivers.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team for part-time day shift 3-4 days a week (28-36 hrs/ week). The ideal candidate will provide energetic and high-quality care and support to our residents in an adult family home setting. This role requires a strong understanding of caregiving practices, including assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and promoting a safe and healthy environment. Experience with a Hoyer is preferred. This home has 6 residents at this time.

Duties

• Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide personal care, including toileting and incontinence care
• Assist with medication administration, as directed by a licensed nurse
• Support residents with memory care, including memory stimulation activities
• Promote a safe and healthy environment by ensuring the cleanliness of the home
• Engage residents in recreational activities and social events
• Respect and promote the rights of our residents
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers
• Document resident care and progress
• Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and other caregivers

Please note that heavy lifting may be required in this role. Applicants must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
