Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group in Temple, TX seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily care and services for residents in long-term or rehabilitative care settings. Shift is 2pm–10pm, four days on, two days off, with benefits and a focus on resident well-being and safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, reporting observations, and supporting care plans, while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct per facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• Must be CPR and first aid certified, with Personal Hygiene training documented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the resident in daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Report observations and pertinent information related to the resident's care.
• Provide services supporting care and review care plans for changes.
• Contribute to formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
• Identify staff educational needs.
• Conduct self professionally per facility policies.
• Safety surveys and daily room tidy, change linens as needed.
• Assist with activities participation and document resident participation.
• Ensure call lights are answered promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary duties, including serving meals and cleaning the meal area.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred

Nursing Assistant certification preferred

Experience working with the elderly desirable

English reading, speaking and writing required

CPR and first aid certification required

Documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents
requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care
procedures and as directed by the supervisor. Hours are 2pm-10pm, 4 days on, 2 days off.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
