Job summary

Senior Solutions, Inc. in Kingston, Tennessee is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care and services for residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, under supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, reporting observations, and supporting care plans while maintaining confidentiality. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Certification as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping as needed.
• Reports observations and pertinent information to care staff.
• Participates in reviewing and updating daily care plans and standards of care.
• Contributes to staff education planning as needed.
• Maintains professional conduct per facility policies.
• Ensures room cleanliness and hygiene, including changing linens weekly or as needed.
• Supports activity participation and documents resident involvement.
• Responds promptly to call lights and resident requests.
• Assists with dietary tasks such as serving meals and cleaning areas.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred

CPR and First Aid certification

Experience with elderly population

English reading/writing proficiency

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident's room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
