Job Summary:

The Caregiver provides clients with personal care and homemaker/companion services according to an established plan of care, enabling them to remain in their residence.

Essential Functions:

1. Personal Care:
   • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail/skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercises, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane), changing positions, toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and feeding assistance.
2. Companion/Sitter/Household Management:
   • Provide companionship and respite services for families.
   • Perform homemaking activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, and bathroom cleaning.
3. Medication Assistance Services:

   Provided under RN supervision and delegation.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Current CPR certification
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course
• At least six months of experience as a Caregiver or CNA/HHA in healthcare settings
• Good standing on the South Carolina Aide Registry
• Minimum score of 80% on the Home Health Aide competency exam
• Passing DEARS Ethics test
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the role
• Valid driver's license and access to insured transportation
